Laser Procedures:
After check-in, you will be called back into our pre-procedural area by one of our nurses. Your nurse will take your blood pressure and administer drops into your eye. After you have received your drops, you will head back out to the waiting room. During your time in the waiting room, your pupil will be reacting to the drops you received.
- When your eye doctor is ready for you, you will be called back into our Laser Procedure room. Your Laser procedure will be completed by your doctor.
- After your procedure, you will head back out into our pre-procedural area to have your blood pressure taken for a second time. After your second blood pressure, you are free to go!
- There are no driving limitations after laser procedures.
Surgery:
After check-in, you will be called back into our pre-operative area by one of our nurses. Your nurse will then get your ready for surgery by having you change into one of our surgical gowns, putting drops in your eye, and going over your health history, and
starting an I.V. so you are able to receive anesthesia and fluids intravenously. After you are fully admitted, you will wait on you stretcher in the pre-operative area until your surgeon is ready to perform your surgery. Before you are brought back for surgery, your surgeon and your anesthesia provider will come and speak with you.
You will be brought back to one of our operating rooms by one of our operating room nurses. Once you are in the operating room, your nurse will get you positioned and ready for surgery by adjusting your stretcher, putting drops in your eye, and making sure you are
warm and comfortable. Once you are prepared for surgery, your doctor will come in and complete your surgery.
When your surgery is complete, you will be brought out to our recovery area where you will be monitored and your I.V. will be removed. Your recovery nurse will print out post-operative instructions for you to take home and ask your driver to pull their vehicle up to the front door. Once your recovery nurse feels you are stable and ready to go home, you will be walked out/rolled out via wheelchair to your car.
You will not be allowed to drive yourself home after the surgery.
Please prepare in advance by coordinating someone who can drive you home from the surgery and help you get settled in for your recovery.
Someone will need to stay with you for 24 hours after your surgery.
